After sitting awhile, then my eyes were drawn to these beauties. Whenever I can, I will take a pause to sit or even lay on the Earth, perhaps my favorite kind of meditation. These delicate flowers were thriving in the protection of the Ponderosa pines in the forest we found ourselves in. So Blue and I ventured to where the shadows of trees would cool and protect us as we walked together. How many extraordinary ‘times’, as we are in now, have pulsed through the seemingly fathomless length and depth of earth time? How many other catalytic events or disruptive cycles have shaped the Earth and also shaped us as earth beings, human and non-human beings alike to who and what we are today globally and collectively? A week or so after Earth Day, the days have begun to feel warmer here in Taos, even hot just after midday and into mid-afternoon. A margin of error of 50 million years is factored in to this scientifically based estimate (using carbon dating) of how long Earth has existed. There are many things that we do our best to figure out and deciphering the ‘age’ of the Earth is one of those things. The Earth is known and recognized, at this time, to be close to 5 billion years old. Of course these are extraordinary times overall, not just as we reflect on Earth Day having been openly celebrated now for 50 years. The extraordinary dance of the elements in northern New Mexico calls me out and again and again lifts my spirits and my knowing of myself as vast awareness and consciousness, as well as being in elemental synchronicity with all that is. On this day, April 22nd, as many of us know has been commemorated for 50 years now as “Earth Day”, we came here and I found my whole being joining with the awe and vitality of All That Is expressed through the skies and the vast open land. My dog, Blue, and I step out into the day numerous times a day everyday. While there are a number of first run releases, none of them exactly shout Pick of the Week.Late afternoon on Earth Day 2020, I found myself here where I took these photographs along the Rift Valley Overlook Trail south of Taos, New Mexico. It's a bad week for DVD / Blu-ray releases. This includes a new number one, For Colored Girls, which sold 517,000 units and generated $8.41 million in consumer spending at retail.ĭVD and Blu-ray Releases for February 8th, 2011 But to be fair to Megamind, it went on sale on Friday not Tuesday like Due Date did.ĭue to a mixture of weak holdovers and depth in the new releases, we had seven DVDs debut in the top 30 sales chart this week. Megamind won that race with 949,000 units / $13.28 million to 923,000 units / $12.92 million for Due Date. There was a close race for top spot on the sales chart this week between two new releases. Figures will therefore fluctuate each week, and totals for individual titles can go up or down as we update our estimates.īecause sales figures are estimated based on sampling, they will be more accurate for higher-selling titles. In particular, we adjust weekly sales figures for the quarter once the total market estimates are published by the Digital Entertainment Group. We refine our estimates from week to week as more data becomes available. The consumer spending estimate is based on the average sales price for the title in the retailers we survey. The market share is converted into a weekly sales estimate based on industry reports on the overall size of the market, including reports published in Media Play News.įor example, if our weekly retail survey estimates that a particular title sold 1% of all units that week, and the industry reports sales of 1,500,000 units in total, we will estimate 15,000 units were sold of that title. Our DVD and Blu-ray sales estimates are based on weekly retail surveys, which we use to build a weekly market share estimate for each title we are tracking.
